Mount of Beatitudes

The Mount of Beatitudes refers to the hill in Northern Israel where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount.
Matthew 5:2 “Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them.

Church of the Beatitudes

On the hill overlooking the Sea of Galilee, stands the Church of the Beatitudes, built by Antonio Barluzzi an Italian architect. The church is octagonal in shape, symbolic of the eight beatitudes which are inscribed on the walls of the octagon, the ninth is inside the dome.
