After this, Jesus revealed himself again to his disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. He revealed himself in this way: Simon Peter, Thomas (called “Twin”), Nathanael from Cana of Galilee, Zebedee’s sons, and two others of his disciples were together. “I’m going fishing,” Simon Peter said to them. “We’re coming with you,” they told him. They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. When daybreak came, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not know it was Jesus.

Peter's Primacy

The Church of the Primacy of Peter is a Franciscan chapel  built in 1933. At the base of the chapel are the remains of a 4th Century church. On the outside of the building are rock-cut steps carved sometime in the 2nd or 3rd Century.

The church is built over a large rock that Byzantine pilgrims believed was the Mensa Christi, the spot where Jesus served his disciples fish for breakfast after the resurrection.  John 21:9 So when they got out on the land, they saw a charcoal fire already laid and fish placed on it, and bread.
